- Oh - I don't think it's all that unattractive, It looks like it'll have a very small foot-print,
- and you can shove it toward the rear of your desk, leaving a lot of room for other stuff.
-
- However, I agree that it's not exactly a push in the right direction, it's off by a few
- degrees... ;-) I think, if they make it so that the CPU is on a simple daughter board, and can be
- swapped out quickly and cleanly that would be a huge step forward. In essence they could then
- market the same base machine with 4 or 5 different CPU options (68ec030 to 68060).
-
- In any case - if we can move the bulk of the Amiga population to an o30 based
- machine, that would be a huge step forward. The key here is to come up with an expandable
- architecture that won't mean buying a new mother board every other year...
-
- I know, we all wish it had at least AAA, PPC, and DSP! But, we also have to be
- reasonable. It's a nice step forward, and depending on just how versatile it's expansion bus is, it
- could be a whole lot more than that. And, as you say, it's just a prototype, and not written in stone (I
- hope).
-
- Lets get some dialog going on this! It's important all Amiga users should be running off
- at the mouth about it by now! I wrote a stern message to AT about their lack of communication
- with the Amiga community, and how it reminded me of our old friends C=.
